Upper McChord Creek Falls

We have now been to many of the waterfalls down the gorge, yeah! We hit 5 falls in one day and somehow missed one of the most amazing...we will be going back to that for sure! We also still haven't stopped at Multnomah Falls, we've passed by twice but decided to keep going and get to some of the more remote falls. The hardest climb so far has been Upper Mcchord Creek. It was about a mile hike, up the side of the cliff. Part of the trail had to be made by blowing out the side of the mountain and putting a rail up, that's how precarious it is. Along the hike, almost to the top, we looked down and saw a tiny little falls, Elowah falls, coming out of the side of the mountain. We must have been 200 feet above the top of the falls. At first we thought that was upper mcchord creek...and we were so irritated that we had hiked nearly a mile for such a tiny little falls! I kept walking, thankfully, to find the beautiful waterfall we had been hiking toward. I will post pictures soon, I promise!
